Use organic ingredients where possible, wash produce thoroughly first.
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of your choice (e.g., sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cut the cauliflower into florets and place them in a food processor. Pulse until the cauliflower resembles rice-like grains.
3. Transfer the cauliflower rice to a microwave-safe bowl and cover with a microwave-safe lid or plate. Microwave on high for 4-5 minutes, until the cauliflower is cooked and soft.
4. Allow the cauliflower to cool slightly, then transfer it to a clean kitchen towel. Wrap the towel around the cauliflower and squeeze out as much moisture as possible. This step is important to ensure a crispy crust.
5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cauliflower, egg, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder , salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
6. Transfer the cauliflower mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round pizza crust, about 1/4 inch thick. Make sure to press it firmly to avoid any cracks.
7. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until it becomes golden brown and firm.
8. Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, spread the tomato sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
9. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the tomato sauce, and add your desired toppings on top.
10. Place the pizza back in the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
11. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
12. Enjoy your healthy cauliflower pizza!
