We Were Enjoying a Delightful Walk on the Beach Until
This sight stopped us in our tracks!

Imagine a gorgeous sunny, bright yet cold afternoon on a recently cleansed beach.
The sand was washed again with every ebb and flow of the gentle tide and the sand was firm underfoot as we slowly ambled along the coast, taking in the fresh ozone from the softly crashing waves.
To keep me warm, I wore 5 different jumpers, the final one bright blue to match the sky, and leggings under my black jeans to keep me warm. Those who know me well, often laugh at the woman of many layers.
I was happy and contented and wearing my sensible white trainers so that I didn't get sand in my feet.
The air was fresh and the sky was scattered with whispery clouds.
We chatted effortlessly as we enjoyed our Sunday stroll, until we were stopped in our tracks by the sight of something not quite fathomable at first glance, and totally unexpected.
What could it be and why was it there, tucked within a rockpool, swishing around and unable to escape?
We imagined a man standing by the shore, with tears rolling down his face after being rejected by his girlfriend as he angrily threw it into the sea.
We imagined a daughter gifting this beautiful offering to her late father who was carried away by the sea 20 years ago when she was only 4 years old. A father she never really knew, although was always in her heart.
Or could it have been gently placed by a bride, the afternoon before?
What do you think it was, and what would be your story?
